About us
James Cuthbertson
I believe that my strength is connecting people, people who share our passion for the leisure and hospitality trade in the UK. These meetings of minds can take the form of client and journalist, client and trade contact, but more often than not, client and client. The team and I are dedicated to creating then delivering your message in an accurate, timely and inspiring way, across a wide range of media channels.
We’re a firm that shares a certain ethos and work ethic with its client base, so why not all work together…it’s an instinctive family thing.

Life is hectic – Life is busy, as a working Mum, being part of the brilliant team at Instinctive PR and also Regional Development Co-ordinator for the British Equestrian Federation, but I would not change it. I enjoy connecting our clients to the right people to pull off big ideas…loving the connectivity makes me a bit of a social media Geek, and Facebook passionata.
Biggest learning curve: The art of multitasking, planning and organisation that happens when becoming a mum.
Outside work: Apart from horses and my family, I also have a big thing for all things vintage and retro.

Lucy Cooper
Prior to joining instinctive I worked as a freelance equestrian journalist for five years. At 15 I persuaded my local newspaper to let me report on the Hickstead Derby, and the rest is history.
Straight from school I skipped university to get stuck into the world of work, writing for local and national newspapers and magazines. Over this time I built up a wealth of writing experience and a great deal of contacts. My top strengths are purely journalistic- combining a nose for a good story, an eye for a photo opportunity, and the knack of rustling up a jolly good press release at the click of a finger.
Horses remain my ultimate passion- when I’m not in the office I can usually be found at the stables. When I’m not there, I’m listening to country music with a pint of Dark Star.
